1/52 - Wishing Flower

This 30" x 24" original acrylic painting captures the moment a dandelion dryad releases her seedlings into the wind to venture into the unknown. Her peaceful smile wishes safe journey to the future fae as they float upon the spring breezes.

This piece was created with copious amounts of modeling paste to enhance the texture and depth the hair-like dandelion seed sections of this beauty. Some elements of her 'hair' (portions of the seeds) extend off the canvas by about two inches. Palette knife and Impressionistic brush stroke techniques were used to enhance the details within the work. Metallic mediums were utilized in some of the wispy seeds to add a sense of magick to this piece.
